Everything you need to know about MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Open Beta

The upcoming open beta for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to run for 72 hours, beginning July 24, 2026, and ending July 26, 2026. According to the PlayStation Blog, the beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with no registration required for players to jump into the action.

"The wait is almost over. The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Open Beta is nearly here, and we can’t wait for players to jump into the action," said Melaine Brou, Senior Manager, Games Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Playable Characters and Stages

During the open beta, players can test 15 of the game's 20 launch characters. This includes Blade, who will be playable for the first time. The available roster is divided into five distinct groups:

• Fighting Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther.
• Unbreakable X-Men: Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger.
• Amazing Guardians: Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker.
• Samurai Outriders: Ghost Rider and Blade.
• Knights of Doom: Doctor Doom and Magneto.

These characters can face off across six stages: Marvel’s New York (Day), Savage Land, X-Mansion, Knowhere, Wakanda, and Marvel’s New York (Night).

Available Game Modes

The beta features a variety of offline and online modes designed to give players a comprehensive look at the gameplay:

• Online: Includes both Casual and Ranked Matches.
• Versus: Supports local play against friends or CPU opponents.
• Open Lobby: A social hub featuring 16 unique avatars (each with four color variations), communication tools like chat, stamps, and emotes, and arcade cabinets to challenge other players.
• Start Up Battle: An interactive tutorial teaching core mechanics and 4v4 combat.
• Training Mode: Combo practice tools and customizable dummy settings.
• Episode Mode: A preview of the first three chapters of the "Amazing Guardians" storyline.

Requirements and Launch Details

To access the open beta, players must have an active internet connection and an Account for PlayStation, which is required for both the PS5 and PC versions. A PlayStation Plus subscription is not required. Pre-downloads for the beta client will open two hours before the servers officially go live.

The open beta will feature the game's full planned localization, offering voice-over and text in US English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish. Following the conclusion of the test, the full version of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to launch on August 6, 2026.
