Crypton Future Media is bringing Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection Mystery Music Planet Re:Merge to iOS and Android devices in Japan this autumn. The upcoming mobile title will follow a free-to-play monetization model featuring in-app purchases, as reported by Gematsu and Pocket Gamer.

The title will showcase popular Piapro characters throughout its gameplay. Confirmed lineup members include Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO.

Legacy of the Original Title

Re:Merge follows in the footsteps of the original Hatsune Miku Graphy Collection Mystery Music Planet, which debuted over a decade ago. The original mobile entry launched first on Android on October 28, 2014, followed shortly by its iOS release on October 30, 2014, according to Gematsu.

That initial game was a card-based RPG that incorporated rhythm mechanics into its core gameplay loop. As detailed by Pocket Gamer, players were tasked with building decks out of Vocaloid characters to participate in battles and search for lost musical notes across various levels. Crypton Future Media maintained operations for the original title for nearly six years until service officially ended on June 30, 2020.

Regional Availability and Western Prospects

At present, Crypton Future Media has only announced Re:Merge for the Japanese market. The publisher has not announced any official plans or timelines for an international release.

Whether the new mobile entry will ever launch outside of Japan remains uncertain. As Pocket Gamer notes, a Western localization for the original 2014 game was initially planned for a 2015 release, but that port ultimately failed to materialize. Given the history of the original title, an English localized version for Re:Merge has not been confirmed.
