New game digest: Lumines, Fortnite, Rust, Honor of Kings, Transformers, Plants Vs Zombies 3, a Moon Active soft launch and more

Mobile and cross-platform gamers have a wave of new titles, store launches, and beta updates to track heading into August 2026. From puzzle classics arriving on mobile to major store expansions in South America, studios across the industry are pushing fresh releases and preparing upcoming tests.

Major Launches and Soft Releases

Sound Games and Enhance have officially brought Lumines Remastered to iOS and Android. Built using Sound Games' self-publishing tool "Shipmate," the title supports touch controls, gamepads, cloud saves, and local two-player multiplayer. It is available as a free-to-try download with a full game unlock priced at $7.99, alongside a digital release of Takayuki Nakamura and Katsumi Yokota's original soundtrack.

Several other notable releases are hitting screens:

• Netflix Minigolf: Developed by Next Games, this four-player couch co-op party game features over 60 courses based on Netflix franchises such as Bridgerton, Squid Game, and Stranger Things.
• Case Solved: The London Files: Minimol Games' noir logic puzzle title is out now across PC (Steam), iOS, Android, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo platforms. It is priced at $9.99 on most platforms and $3.99 on Google Play, with a 15% launch discount.
• Medal Hunter: Ten Square Games has launched its military PvP shooter globally, marking a significant strategic departure from its typical outdoor titles. The game uses a shared development model similar to Trophy Hunter following soft-launch testing in the US, UK, Australia, and Germany.
• Royal Splash: Tower Blast: Coin Master developer Moon Active has soft-launched a new physics-based puzzle game on Android, appearing across multiple global territories.

Storefront Expansions and Upcoming Betas

Platform distribution is also shifting. Epic Games has launched the Epic Games Store on iOS in Brazil, bringing Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe to iPhone users in the region. Epic is offering a 20% Epic Rewards kickback on Fortnite purchases made through its mobile store, noting that Apple's native App Store policies in Brazil prevent similar discounts.

Meanwhile, major beta tests and announcements are lining up for late August:

• Rust Mobile: Level Infinite and Facepunch Studios have announced a second beta test starting August 23. Pre-downloads open August 22 via Google Play and direct APK download, alongside limited intake for iOS TestFlight. The test supports 13 languages following more than three million pre-registrations.
• Honor of Kings: Ace: Level Infinite announced a strategy hero card battler set in the Honor of Kings universe. Featuring cross-platform progression between mobile and PC, overseas players will get their first hands-on opportunity at Gamescom 2026.

Updates and Pre-Registrations

Existing live-service games and upcoming ports are also making moves. PopCap and EA released Update 1.0.5 for Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved, a merge-based early access entry on iOS and Android. The update reworks the new player tutorial and rebalances rewards ahead of broader global rollouts.

Pre-registrations are now live for Transformers: Eternal War, an idle RPG from Wanda Cinemas Games and Hasbro featuring G1 Autobots and Decepticons. Additionally, Devolver Digital and Nerial's card-flipping roguelike Reigns: Beyond transitions off Apple Arcade with a general release set for August 12 at $4.99. Finally, Kakao Games secured global publishing rights for Kong Studios' upcoming pixel art action RPG Guardian Maiden, scheduled for PC and mobile later this year.
