Marvel’s Wolverine ‘Story’ trailer

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games have released a new story trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, confirming that the PlayStation 5 title will launch on September 15, 2026. The game, developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, presents an original narrative centered on Logan's search for his mysterious origins.

According to an official overview published by Gematsu, the story follows Wolverine as he digs into his history across several global locations, including the island nation of Madripoor, Canada, and Tokyo. The developer notes that the project will deliver an "all-new take on the iconic character" that is darker than Insomniac's previous superhero titles.

Characters and Combat Details

In the official overview released alongside the trailer, Sony Interactive Entertainment outlined what players can expect from the game's mechanics and narrative tone:

"The Ultimate Wolverine Fantasy – Marvel’s Wolverine is built on Insomniac Games staples like fast, fluid, and ferocious combat; exhilarating, action-packed set pieces; robust accessibility features; and a gripping story that taps into the core tenets of one of the most compelling comic book characters of all time. The game will explore Logan’s signature spin on heroism—which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac."

The trailer and game overview confirm several comic book characters and enemy factions appearing in the story. Players will encounter Mystique and Omega Red, along with an enemy faction known as the Reavers.

"Independence is often the way of Wolverine, although he’ll encounter familiar faces on his journey, like the elusive Mystique and the brutish Omega Red. Some will fight alongside Logan against all odds, while others will unleash all-out attacks, such as the Reavers, an enemy faction that will keep our hero’s instincts on edge."
