Kogado Studio has officially announced Neosphere of The Deep-blue Sky: Legacy, a remastered version of its classic city-building simulation game. According to reporting by Gematsu, the title is scheduled to launch in Japan in spring 2027 for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Windows.
The upcoming release marks the second remastered entry in Kogado Studio's Aoi series, following the previous release of Tristia: Legacy. To accommodate a global audience, the remaster will launch with support for multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Rebuilding a Kingdom in the Clouds
Neosphere of The Deep-blue Sky: Legacy places players in the role of Nanoca Flanca, a novice inventor tasked with restoring prosperity to a struggling world. Unlike the seaside city setting featured in Tristia, this title takes players high into the air to rebuild the "sky kingdom" of Neosphere.
The core gameplay revolves around a city-building simulation loop where players must develop the kingdom. To achieve this, players guide Nanoca as she designs and constructs what Gematsu describes as "unique and outlandish 'inventions'" to revitalize the floating society.
From 2005 to Modern Platforms
The original version of Neosphere of The Deep-blue Sky first debuted in Japan in 2005 as a PC exclusive. Following its initial success, the simulation game was later ported to the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable (PSP).
This new Legacy edition brings the title to modern hardware for the first time, updating the classic experience for a new generation of players on Switch and PC. Kogado Studio has not yet announced specific details regarding gameplay enhancements, visual upgrades, or a precise western release date beyond the confirmed multi-language support.
