The game allows players to swirl clouds on the screen using touch controls while it loads, but applying too much pressure across the display causes the title to close unexpectedly.

How the Boot-Up Bug Triggers

According to reporting from Nintendo Life, placing an entire hand onto the touch screen while swirling the clouds during the initial loading sequence can cause the application to crash completely. The quirk was first brought to light by a player on the Splatoon Raiders subreddit. Reddit User u/Stardazzle220 shared their finding, stating, "I found a new bug if you put your entire hand on the screen as you stir the clouds at the start of the game. Lol"
