Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Shows Off "Super Limit-Breaking NEO" DLC And Free Update

Bandai Namco has detailed the upcoming "Super Limit-Breaking NEO" paid DLC and content update for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, adding new modes and risk-reward combat mechanics. The content arrives on most platforms on July 30, 2026, though Nintendo players face a significantly longer wait.

Bandai Namco confirmed that "SUPER LIMIT-BREAKING NEO, Mission 100, and Survival Mode for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch are planned for 2027," according to reporting by Nintendo Life.

New Modes and Combat Mechanics

The update expands the game's offerings with two new game modes: Mission 100 and Survival Mode. Alongside these modes, several gameplay mechanics are being introduced to alter combat strategy:

• Battle Arts: Players can navigate maps and select opponents based on strength, utilizing Battle Arts to gain advantages. The system also allows for character stat customization to align with specific playstyles.
• Sparking! Boost: This high-risk mechanic alters stat management in battle. Bandai Namco explains that “Sparking! Boost” allows players to "spend a large amount of Skill Stock to further increase their attack power while in Sparking! Mode. However, once the boost ends, their stats will be temporarily reduced."
• Chain Blast: This system expands offensive follow-up options. According to Bandai Namco, “Chain Blast” creates "an additional follow-up opportunity after sending an opponent flying" by switching to a reserve ally to continue the attack.

Release Schedule Disparity

While players on non-Nintendo platforms can access the Super Limit-Breaking NEO content starting July 30, 2026, those on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will have to wait until 2027. Bandai Namco plans to announce additional details about the Switch and Switch 2 versions at a later date.
