Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics adds Super Mario Sunshine on August 13; Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics adds D-HOPPER and ZERO RACERS on August 4

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will see three classic titles added across two platform applications in August 2026. The upcoming arrivals expand both the GameCube and Virtual Boy libraries offered through Nintendo's suite of digital retro software.

Virtual Boy Lineup for August 4

The monthly releases begin on August 4, 2026, with additions to the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics application. Nintendo will bring two titles to the application: D-HOPPER and ZERO RACERS.

These additions give subscribers access to both games through the dedicated Virtual Boy app on Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario Sunshine Arrives August 13

Following the Virtual Boy additions, the Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics app will expand its catalog on August 13, 2026, with the release of Super Mario Sunshine.

As noted in Nintendo's official announcement reported by Gematsu, "The Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics app will add Super Mario Sunshine on August 13, and the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics app will add D-HOPPER and ZERO RACERS on August 4, Nintendo announced."

Future Schedule

Nintendo has confirmed the specific release dates and titles for the August lineup across both apps. The company has not announced additional games or release schedules for the GameCube or Virtual Boy applications beyond these three titles.
